KICKING DRILLS

There is no substitute for volume here.
Start with slow movements with proper form.
Do 100 of each type slowly.
Feel your feet grip the floor.

Then, do 100 as fast as you can. Kick, chamber and kick again. See how many you can do in 5 seconds, rest 15 seconds and do it again. Do not worry about form in this drill we are working different muscle groups.

Then my favorite is to do slow kata, with punches and kicks as fast as possible.
By doing this, you teach your brain that the body must move this much faster than other movements.

Water training is vital, since you can throw techniques at 100% power. No fear of injury. The neighbors would ask my wife, What is all that Thrashing sound in your pool? Just my husband practicing his Karate.
Many times after a workout in a public pool when on vacation, people would come and ask if they could train with me. No. I always said.

Add Candle kicks of course.

Speed is 80% and power is only 20% important.

REMEMBER - SPEED KILLS !
